Joined Rogue: October 2013
Rogue Debut: November 2013
Profession: I am going to school for Welding at FTCC in hopes of becoming an Art/ Welding instructor when I am finished with my classes.
Skate Gear: I wear all triple 8 pads, a flat black helmet, and a red mouth guard because red is my favorite color.
Teams You've Played For:
How did you get involved with roller derby?: I was at an event in town and they had a booth set up. I skated in High School and I figured why not. I went to the open recruitment night and I decided that Rogue would be the next goal in my life. Now I am a Rogue Rollergirl and I love life!
How did you choose your derby name?: I have went through a few because I have a hard time setting things in stone but I am Threat Michaelz. Because I have loved Brett Michaels since I was old enough to know what talking dirty was. He is so HOT :) So I figured it fits me, hot and a threat.
Pre-Derby Sports Background: I was in track, gymnastics, and I played a lot soft ball.
Off Skates Workouts: I am currently trying out cross fit but I see derby as my main workout.
Best Fresh Meat Moment: I had a lot of funny moments and serious meaningful ones as well but I think my favorite "moments" would be when my fresh meat realized we were in it together and we started pushing ourselves to be the best and never gave up on each other. We were a small family!
Favorite Derby Moment: My first bout in Gastonia I was in my first ever line up and did my best with my brain going 800 thoughts a minute...after the whistle when I got to the bench the grannies all saying good job and just feeling like part of the team.
Likes: Derby, Music, Writing, and spending time with my family.
Dislikes: Hang-overs, Liars, and
Derby Heroes: All the grannies on my team in some way. Especially, Deanne T. Krist makes me want to skate harder and push myself, Urban Gorilla makes me want to understand why I do everything and be the best, and Bella Hooker just makes me want to be a great skater while still being happy :)
Pre-Bout Ritual: I pray shortly to do the best I can and not to die and I talk to my mom about no matter what happens we are celebrating after.
